A network card must be installed and operating correctly before configuring IP addresses.

1. From the Windows desktop, click start, settings, then control panel.

2. Double click on the network icon. Click on the configuration tab at the top.

In the window, if you scroll down, you should see “ TCP/IP > Network of XXXXXX”. Where XXXX is the name of your network adapter. If you have been provided with a Linksys USB network adapter you will see TCP/IP > Network of Linksys USB 10BT. Highlight it and click the properties button.

See FIG 1 (If you only see TCP/IP > Dial Up Adapter, then the network card is not installed properly)

3. Click the IP Address Automatically button. See Fig 2

4. Go to the DNS Configuration Tab on top the the TCP/IP Properties. Select Enable DNS, if it is not already selected. See Fig 3.

5. Change the DSN Server Search Order numbers to be 216.130.224.4 and 216.130.224.5

See Fig 3.
